Here's a beta feature we're especially excited about: you can now have a brand-new design made just for you — without opening a single slide. You don't upload any content for this one. You simply describe the design you want, or set a few preferences, and it gets built for you in the LazyDog Designer.

The design maker — describe it in words, set a few preferences, or both.

Two Ways to Make a Design

You're in charge of how much you say. Write a free-form description, set the preference fields, or do both together — whatever's quickest for you. Fill in as little or as much as you like; anything you leave open simply gives the designer room to choose for you.

Just Describe It

The fastest route is the description box. Write your design the way you'd explain it to a designer — for example: "luxury fashion media kit, 15 slides, black background, gold accents, editorial layout, inspired by the Aurora Skincare kit, 5 mockup slides." Mention the pieces that matter to you and skip the rest. The more specific you are, the closer the first result lands.

Or Set the Preferences

Prefer to be precise? The preferences panel lets you pin down each choice with a field. Here's what each one does and how to fill it:

Content Type
What you're making (pitch deck, media kit, and so on). Leave it on "Any" to let the designer decide, or pick one to lock it.
No. of Slides
How many slides you want. Type a number, e.g. 15.
Background
The base look, like dark or light. Choose one, or leave "Any".
Accent Colour
Your highlight colour (gold, blue, and the like) used for emphasis. Pick one or leave it open.
Industry / Topic
Your field, such as fashion, finance, or food, so the look suits your world.
Image Weight
How image-heavy versus text-heavy the design should feel: balanced, more images, or more text.
Mock-up Slides
How many product or device mock-up slides to include. Give a number or a share, e.g. 5, or 20%.
Use a Past Design's Look
Borrow the look of a design you've seen before, e.g. "design 3 background".
Inspired by / Base Layout On
Name a design or brand to base the layout on, so the result starts from a direction you already like.

What Can the Design Maker Create?

The tool is built for slide-based content: pitch decks, media kits, presentations, look books, brand decks, and product showcases. If it can be built in slides, you can describe it here. The tool adapts the layout structure, section order, and slide count to suit the content type you've asked for — a media kit gets a stats page, an audience section, and rate card slides; a pitch deck gets a problem, solution, and traction structure.

The difference between using the design maker and picking a template is that a template starts from someone else's structure and you adapt it. A generated design starts from your brief and is built specifically for what you described. If you have a clear picture of what you want, the maker is usually faster.

How to Write a Description That Works

You don't need to write a lot — a single sentence often produces a strong first result. The key is to mention the elements that matter most to you. Content type, slide count, background tone, accent colour, and any reference points are all useful. "Dark background, gold accents, 12-slide pitch deck for a fintech startup" gives the tool everything it needs. "Make something nice" leaves too much open and produces a more generic result.

Naming a reference — a brand, a style, or a past design — is one of the most effective things you can add. It anchors the visual direction and means you spend less time correcting the first pass. If you're not sure what to describe, use the preferences panel instead: pick a few fields and leave the rest on "Any."

Then Hit "Make My Design"

Once your description or fields are set, press Make my design and the design is built to match. Because every field is optional, you can go from a one-line description to a fully-specified brief — and get a starting point either way.

It's in Beta — and We're Testing

This is an early release, so access is limited while we run trials and refine how it behaves — you may find it locked or changing from visit to visit. That's deliberate: we'd rather get it right than rush it.

More is on the way — wider access, more choices in every field, and an even smoother path from a few words to a finished design. This is your first look at making a LazyDog design entirely your own.
