Set 18 · By Profession · Resumes · Free
Driver and trade resumes, kept plain and strong.
These jobs do not need a long resume. They need four facts on one page — licence, record, experience, availability — set out so a supervisor can decide in thirty seconds. Three complete examples: a heavy vehicle driver, an electrician, and a warehouse supervisor.

Sample OneEleven years · HTV licence
Licence class first, safety record second, distance third. Nothing else on the page matters as much as those three, so nothing else goes above them.

Why this one works
- Licence class and expiry are in the header. A transport manager checks this before anything else. Putting it on line one saves a phone call and gets you shortlisted.
- Distance is stated per month and in total. 4,200 km monthly and 620,000 km overall proves both current pace and long experience.
- The safety record has a period attached. "Zero at-fault accidents across six years" is a record. "Safe driver" is an opinion about yourself.
- Cash handling appears. PKR 80,000 weekly with no shortfall answers the trust question before it is asked.
Sample TwoNine years · Industrial & domestic
Trade work is judged on certification, the type of installation you have handled, and whether anything ever went wrong. All three are on the page.

Why this one works
- Machine count states the scale of the floor. "200-machine floor" tells a plant engineer exactly what size operation this electrician is used to.
- Restoration time is the key metric. Under 40 minutes average is what production managers actually care about, because downtime is money.
- The safety record spans the whole career. Nine years with no reportable incident is the single most important line for any electrical hire.
- Self-employed years are written as a job. 400+ installations plus quoting and materials shows he can be trusted alone on a site.

The step from operator to supervisor. The page has to show both the hands-on record and the first evidence of running people.

Why this one works
- Team size is in the skills list. "Team Supervision (14)" is searchable and specific, and it separates a supervisor from a senior operator.
- The promotion is visible. Operator to supervisor at the same company shows he was trusted by people who watched him work for three years.
- Error rate has a mechanism. 2.8% to 0.6% "by introducing a two-stage check" shows he thought about the process, not just worked harder.
- Forklift certification is dated as renewed. An expired certificate makes a candidate unusable on day one; showing the renewal year removes the doubt.
The four facts that matter
A supervisor hiring a driver, an electrician or a warehouse worker is looking for four things and will find them in about thirty seconds or move to the next page.
- Licence or certification. The class, the expiry, and whether the record is clean. This goes in the header, not at the bottom.
- Record. Accidents, incidents, penalties, shortfalls. Zero is a number and it is the strongest one available in this work.
- Experience with scale attached. Kilometres, machines, cases, vehicles, team size. The unit tells the reader what size operation you are used to.
- Availability. Shift patterns you can work, when you can start, whether you have your own vehicle or tools.
Everything else on the page is secondary. If the resume is getting long, cut from elsewhere.
Numbers in practical work
These jobs are counted constantly and the counting is easy to find — it is on the delivery sheet, the shift log, the maintenance record.
- Volume. Deliveries per day, cases handled, jobs completed, machines maintained.
- Distance and time. Kilometres driven, response time, restoration time, hours logged.
- Accuracy. Error rate, stock accuracy, shortfalls, damages.
- Safety. Incident-free period, injury record, penalties.
- Money. Cash handled, collections, value of stock or vehicle in your care.
- People. Team supervised, staff trained.
Round honestly and say "about" if you are estimating. Nobody will hold "about 25 deliveries a day" against you; an invented precise figure that collapses in the interview will cost the job.
Why short is right here
A one-page resume is standard advice everywhere. For this work it is not merely standard, it is the correct answer, and going longer actively hurts.
The person reading it is usually a shift supervisor or transport manager reading between other tasks, often on a phone, often with fifty applications. A long document does not read as thorough — it reads as someone who cannot get to the point, which in this work is itself a signal.
Half a page is fine. Three quarters is common. Fill it with the four facts, the volume numbers and the record, and leave the rest empty. Empty space is not a wasted opportunity; it is what makes the important things findable.
This one stays free, always.
