Sample OneFresh · No employment
The final year project is treated as a real engineering project, because it was one: a brief, a team, a budget, a deadline and a result.

Why this one works
- The project has a budget, a team and a result. PKR 180,000, four members, 34% faster. Written this way it is indistinguishable in shape from a junior engineering job.
- PEC registration is in the header. Many fresh engineers delay registering. Having it already removes a step for the employer and signals seriousness.
- The internship has numbers. Six weeks, two lines, 40+ incidents, three shutdowns. "Completed an internship" would have wasted the whole experience.
- Software is honest about level. "ANSYS (basic)" rather than listing it flat. Nobody expects mastery from a graduate; they do expect accuracy.
Sample TwoFresh · Society and tuition work
No internship, no project worth reporting. What she has is two years of running a university society and three years of private tuition — both of which are real work.

Why this one works
- The treasurer role is written as a finance job. Budget managed, accounts presented, audits passed, sponsorship raised. Every one of those is a task a trainee accountant will do.
- Tuition is listed as self-employment. Fourteen students, three years, a measurable outcome. It shows commitment, and the grade improvement is a genuine result.
- ACCA progress is stated exactly. "Applied Knowledge completed" rather than "pursuing ACCA". Employers pay for the papers you have, not the ones you intend.
- Both audits are mentioned. A student society audit is small, and passing two of them cleanly is exactly the habit an accounting firm is hiring for.
Sample ThreeFresh MBBS · Awaiting house job
Medical graduates have enormous documented experience and usually list none of it. Rotations, cases, procedures observed, research — all of it is countable.

Why this one works
- Rotation hours are counted. 1,900 hours is a real figure available from the log book, and it is the closest thing a fresh doctor has to employment history.
- Patients clerked and procedures assisted are numbered. 200+ and 60+. Every graduate has these numbers in a logbook and almost none transfer them onto the page.
- The publication is listed twice. Once in the research role and once as a credential. For competitive house jobs and future postgraduate applications it is a genuine differentiator.
- The target specialty is named. "Seeking a house officer post in internal medicine" — specificity reads as commitment, and vagueness reads as indifference.
You have more than you think
A graduate resume looks empty because the writer applied a rule nobody actually holds: that only paid employment counts. Employers hiring graduates know you have not been employed. They are looking for evidence you can be given work and will complete it.
All of this counts, and all of it can be written in the same shape as a job:
- Final year project. A brief, a team, a budget, a deadline, a result.
- Internships, however short. Six weeks is six weeks.
- Society and committee roles. Treasurer, president, event lead — these involve money, people and deadlines.
- Tuition and freelance work. Self-employment with clients and outcomes.
- Clinical rotations, lab work, teaching practice, field work. Supervised, but real.
- Competitions, hackathons, case challenges, sports leadership.
Write each with a title, an organisation, dates and bullets. Same structure as employment. It is honest — the titles say what they were — and it fills a page with things that actually happened.
Where a graduate finds numbers
Everything above becomes twice as persuasive with a figure attached, and the figures exist.
- Hours. Rotation hours, internship weeks, tuition hours per week.
- People. Team size, students taught, committee members, event attendees.
- Money. Project budget, society budget, sponsorship raised, fees earned.
- Volume. Patients clerked, incidents logged, samples run, surveys collected.
- Outcome. Grade achieved, percentage improvement, ranking, whether it was selected or published.
Check your logbook, your project report and your society accounts before you write. Ten minutes there is worth more than an hour of adjectives.
Four mistakes almost every graduate makes
Weak
Objective: To secure a challenging position in a reputable organisation where I can utilise my skills and grow professionally.
Strong
Mechanical engineering graduate with a first-class degree and a final year project that cut test-rig cycle time 34%. Seeking a graduate trainee engineer position.
One. The objective statement is about what you want. Replace it with what you have and what post you are applying for.
Weak
Final Year Project: Automated Test Rig
Strong
Designed and built an automated test rig for gearbox fatigue testing on a PKR 180,000 budget; cut test cycle time 34% against the existing manual rig.
Two. A project title is not a project. What was it, what did it cost, what did it achieve.
Weak
Skills: MS Office, Communication, Hard Working, Team Player, Fast Learner
Strong
Skills: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS (basic), Preventive Maintenance, Technical Drawing
Three. The first list appears on every graduate resume in the country. The second is made of things that can be tested.
Weak
Pursuing ACCA. Currently studying.
Strong
ACCA — Applied Knowledge completed, 2025. Applied Skills in progress.
Four. Say exactly what stage you have reached. Vagueness about qualifications is read as a hidden problem, and it usually is not one.
This one stays free, always.
